Currently on offer are SEVEN Alphecca talismans! The fixed star Alphecca is said by Agrippa, “to bestoweth the good will and love of men and giveth chastity.” Now it’s important to note, chastity in the time before Agrippa did not purely mean sexual abstinence, it was a word rendered for virtuous and moral behavior. Ptolemy said that Alphecca is of the nature of Venus and Mercury. This combination is exceptional for increasing your friend circle, attracting new friends, strengthening your relationships, for creativity, and for royal treatment from others. A Bodleian manuscript known as De Quindecim Stellis, attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, says that Alphecca “makes men chaste and grants friendship and honor with God and man.”
These talismans were made with silver pewter crowned heart shaped pendants. They are quite large but very beautiful. On the back is engraved the sigil of Alphecca. No cord or chain is provided for these, though one can be requested. Please email contact@opushelios.net
About Alphecca
Located in the modern zodiac at 12 degrees Scorpio, Alphecca is the alpha star of the constellation Corona Borealis, a latin name meaning “Northern Crown.” The star has also been known as Gemma, Alfekka, Al-Fazzah, and in the astronomical community, Alpha Corona Borealis. It is one of the 15 Behenian Fixed Stars discussed by Hermes. In the texts attributed to him, he describes Alpheccas stone to be topaz and the herb to be rosemary. If found in a significant place in a natal chart, Alphecca is thought to bring a very artistic life to the individual and to make them lucky in love.
Alphecca is considered the ‘Jewel of the Northern Crown’ making up the alpha star of the constellation Corona Borealis. Said to be the crown given to Ariadne by Venus for her marriage to Dionysus in Greek lore.
Fixed stars are distinct in the way that they are outside of planetary influence. Because the fixed stars are located outside of the planetary spheres, they beam their virtues to us on the earthly plane through the planets.
The Election
For fixed star elections, the Star in question must be either rising or culminating and have a conjunction with the Moon. The waning Moon is placed upon the Ascendant, rising in Scorpio free of any bad aspects with the malefics. With her rises the bright star Alphecca, and both receive trines from Jupiter, the Sun, and Mercury.
The Ascendant ruler and the ruler of the Moon, Mars, is in Pisces. This has led to these talismans having an insomniac quality about them. If you struggle with insomnia, I do not recommend these talismans for you.
The Ritual
Since the fixed star invocations have been lost to time, I used the method popularized by renowned astrologer, Kaitlyn Coppock; using the Orphic Hymn to Astron and substituting Alphecca as the subject called. To personify Alphecca, I chose a statue of a crowned Our Lady of Knock. Upon the altar were placed: purple and yellow candles inscribed with the sigil of Alphecca, the empty vessels, brass cups and dishes, rosemary, purple and gold ribbons, and various offerings like a gourd and mangoes.
The suffumigation: rosemary, white clover flowers, English ivy, frankincense, and mugwort
A prayer to God and the reading of Psalm 91 was read for protection. Then, the Orphic Hymn to Alphecca was sang and a meditation to follow. After carving the sigil of Alphecca into the talismans at exactly 22:40 and suffumigating each one, a special prayer to Alphecca was read. The work was then complete and a prayer to God was offered for thanks and praise as well as to the spirits of Alphecca.
The Jewel of the Northern Crown awaits her journey– to you.
